Our Story

About Picture 900.jpg

In the 90s, there was Friends and Seinfeld. More recently,

there was The Office. And they were all... amazing.

Not simply because they were funny, but because they related to a particular tone that everyone had towards their daily lives. Friends was for the feel-good crowd while Seinfeld was for the sarcastic- regardless, we all had a Joey, Ross, Rachel, George, and sometimes, even a Kramer in our lives.

What about the Indians? Where was the show like that for them?

Everyone's likely heard the occasional roast from their parents, the judgmental vibe a family friend gave when they did something remotely  "controversial", and faced the stresses it means to be an Indian-American growing up today. In fact, we have a meme group dedicated to this shared experience - Subtle Curry Traits - The Facebook Group.

So when a family friend asked us, "Why don't you make an Indian sitcom?", the question was baffling.

So baffling that it hit- we had to make this show. We had to take this shared experience we have, and show the most honest portrayal of it, one where no one had a filter.

The Office meets an Indian-American household. The satire our community needs. For the demand that definitely exists.
